See only books will not help you if your concept is not clear. Your concept should be crystal clear. In physics, chemistry and mathematics you should have prior interest in each subjects. And regarding your preferable NIT, see NIT Surathkal is counted in top of the NIT's for getting into this NIT your rank should be very good. And what book you need to study if you are still studying in 12th std then go through NCERT books. And rather than other competitive books, here some i am listing below for each subjects
For Mathematics
1) cengage
2) IIT mathematics by M.L khanna
3) RD Sharma
4) Differential Calculus by A Das Gupta.
5) Higher Algebra by Hall andKnight.

For Physics
1) H.C Verma part 1 and 2
2) IIT JEE Physics by D.C. Pandey
3) Physics for IIT JEE by Resnick, Halliday, Walker.

For Chemistry
1) Organic Chemistry by O.P. Tandon.
2) Inorganic Chemistry by O.P. Tandon.
3) Modern approach to chemical calculations by R.C. Mukherjee.
4) Numerical Chemistry by P.Bahadur.

And you should study NCERT books too and for chemistry its very imp. And do practice from Arihant 39years problem. Hope these will help you and if you do hard work then you can also crack JEE advanced but you should have a clear concept.
