But doing mechanical from Nit Calicut will be better option as it has better placements .

Also the faculty for mechanical branch in this college is too good .

So if you have interest in This field then You should definitely join this institute.

Mechanical in NIT Calicut is the better option considering the two colleges and their past records. NIT Calicut is one of the top NITs of India alongside Surathakal and Warangal. Calicut boasts of good infrastructure, faculty and a very strong alumni network. It's many alumni are today sitting at the very top posts in reputed companies. This certainly helps in the placements. While NIT Nagpur is itself one of the best NITs and has equally good infrastructure and college environment but considering that you have Civil option in NIT Nagpur, slightly stops me from choosing it over NITC. Mechanical, nowadays, naturally has more job opportunities than Civil. The chances of core companies coming for campus placement will be more in NITC due to its reputation and the sheer number of companies hiring mechanical graduates. With some hardwork in first year, you can even slide to better branches. Expect a placement of atleast 10LPA, if being placed in core companies and 7LPA if in service sector. The placement amount won't vary much but the probability of getting placement would.
