With 105 your chance of getting a seat in CSE in THAPAR as well as PU is tough as the competition is very high for that.
As a medium earning family it becomes slightly tougher to manage the fees which are charged by Thapar as it is bit expensive. If you are thinking of Education loan then its ok but keep in mind that the loan burden may get bigger as the amount taken will be also bigger.
PU is getting better day by day as compared to Thapar in terms of placements. Well thapar has good records in its side but the level of improvement shown by PU's placement cell is exceptionally well. Overall, both colleges lie very near in terms of placement.
Thapar is an average choice. It is not a best college and not also the worst college. It is among the average engineering colleges of India with some placements thats all.
I'll suggest you to keep an eye on spot counselling of JEE MAINS. Try there if you get a chance in some good colleges.
