BA LLB (Bachelor of Law) is a five-year integrated programme with exit option at B.A. Level, offered under School of Legal Studies, Department of Law and this Degree offered by Central University of Kashmir, Srinagar.
The department offers five year integrated degree programme in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BALLB). Students after passing Higher Secondary Examination Part Two/10+2 become eligible to seek admission in this course. The students are admitted to the programme through all India level Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Students in this programme are imparted knowledge in different fields of humanities and social sciences like english, economics, political science and sociology along with a comprehensive study of various domains in law.
This programme in last few semesters offers practical courses on clinical legal education through court visits (lower as well as higher judiciary), legal literacy programmes and project work based on doctrinal as well as empirical (field based) studies. A degree in law, especially BALLB programme, provides myriad career opportunities in public sector as well as private organizations. There are excellent job prospects for law graduates not only in government judicial/civil services or academics but also in business, industry and the traditional careers of barrister or solicitor in private practice.
Admission shall be made on the basis of the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET).
A candidate must have passed the 10+2 with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) from a recognized Board. Age should not be more than 20 years (22 years for SC/ST).
