Central University of Kashmir, Srinagar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Central University of Kashmir is a public university established in the year 2009 under the Central Universities Act, 2009. The university has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a ‘B++’ grade. There are a total of 131 faculty members at Central University of Kashmir. The varsity campus is spread over an area of 503 acres. As per the official website of the university, it’s mission is to contribute to the educational, cultural, economic & social advancement of students. 

The varsity provides admission to 37 programmes. It offers UG, PG, PGD and integrated courses. Central University of Kashmir offers management, commerce, engineering etc. streams courses. To provide admission to its courses, the university conducts Central University of Kashmir Admission Test (CUKAT). Candidates need to appear for JEE Main and CMAT for admission to B.Tech and M.B.A. programmes respectively. The students of the varsity can avail national and state level scholarships. The training and placement cell of Central University of Kashmir provides an ample number of placement opportunities to students. It is located 40.4 km away from the campus. Mazhom Railway Station is the nearest railway station to the university. It is situated 32.2 km away from the university premises. With a distance of 20.4 km, Kangan Bus Stand is the nearest bus stand to the university.

• The Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, organised the maiden Sheikh Noor ud Din Noorani (RA) 1st inter-semester virtual moot court competition.

There are a large number of facilities available at the campus for students. The university also has modern infrastructure. The university provides undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diploma and integrated courses. Central University of Kashmir courses are offered in commerce, sciences, engineering etc. streams. The duration of the courses offered by the varsity ranges from 1 years to 6 years. A few of the Central University of Kashmir courses are B.Sc. and M.Sc. Central University of Kashmir Admissions

Candidates can take admission in UG, PG, PGD and integrated programmes offered by the varsity. In order to apply for Central University of Kashmir admission, candidates first must meet the eligibility criteria of the desired programme. The university conducts Central University of Kashmir Admission Test (CUKAT) for admission to its courses other than M.B.A. and B.Tech. To take admission to B.Tech and M.B.A. courses, candidates must obtain a valid score in JEE Main and CMAT. For M.B.A. admissions, the university also conducts group discussion and a personal interview. 

Central University of Kashmir Admission Process - UG Courses other than B.Tech

• Fill the application form.

• Appear for the CUKAT. 

• On the basis of CUKAT scores, candidates are shortlisted.

• Shortlisted candidates need to visit the campus.

• The last step is documents submission and fee payment. 

Central University of Kashmir B.Tech Admission Process

• Appear for JEE Main and obtain a valid score.

• Fill the application form of the varsity.

• Based on JEE Main scores (70%) and past academic performance (30%), candidates are shortlisted.

• Once shortlisted, visit the campus. 

• Submit documents and pay fees to secure admission.

Central University of Kashmir Admission Procedure - M.B.A.

• Take up CMAT and fill Central University of Kashmir application form. 

• Apper for a personal interview (PI) and group discussion (GD) conducted by the university. 

• Candidates are shortlisted based on performance in PI, GD and CMAT. 

• Shortlisted candidates need to submit their documents and pay course fees.
