Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya is the state university established in 2012 with its campus at Durg, Chhattisgarh. The University Grants Commission has already approved the University for veterinary sciences, animal husbandry, and dairy technology. A total enrollment of 1,658 is achieved by this university with a faculty strength of 87, offering 35 courses across 6 degree programmes. It offers a wide range of specializations in veterinary sciences, fisheries, and dairy technology at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya has developed several modern facilities to cater to its academic programs. The library was established in the year 1986. It provides reading facilities, loan and reproprinting facilities and internet access. It also acts as a thesis repository and contains periodicals for research scholars and students. In addition, the campus facilities include the provision of high-speed internet and Wi-Fi connectivity. The university has well-departmental laboratories for practical learning. Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya offers wide courses-3 undergraduate programs, 18 postgraduate programs, and 14 doctoral programs. Undergraduate courses are enough to meet B.Tech in Dairy Technology, Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.), and Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc). At the postgraduate level, the university offers M.V.Sc and M.Tech programs in various specialisations. The Ph.D. courses include almost all the disciplines of Veterinary and Dairy Science.

Admissions to the different courses of Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya differ in various criteria. For the undergraduate courses, for the most part admissions are done on the basis of competitive exams at the state level conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board. For B.Tech in Dairy Technology and B.V.Sc & A.H., the applicant should have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as subjects in Class XII. And for B.F.Sc, he has to study Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English for the purpose. Candidates are admitted to the postgraduate and doctorate courses through a Common Entrance Test conducted by the university. 25% of the seats in postgraduate and 15% of the seats in undergraduate courses are filled through All India Entrance Examinations conducted by ICAR and Veterinary Council of India. For some programs, a quota for the reservation of seats is also available for employees of the relevant government departments.
