(123/vidhayi & sansadiya karya/2002 dated 11-4-2002). The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission, India, under the 1956 act section 2(F) and has also been accredited by NAAC.

Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is the first private University of Uttarakhand State, privately sponsored by Vedmata Gayatri Trust without any financial aid from any government agency. The university has been duly accredited by NAAC and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India for the coordination, determination, and maintenance of standards of university education in India, under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

The university offers a variety of courses at different levels, including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. The university's curriculum integrates Indian culture and values as well as the principles and practices of modern education.
