Dr. YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, was established on 26th June 2007 with the aim of enhancing productivity, sustainability, and commercialisation of Horticulture in Andhra Pradesh. DYSRHU University is dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by the horticultural sector and empowering farmers to make horticulture a profitable venture. Dr. YSRHU Venkataramannagudem is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (DYSRHU) currently comprises 4 Horticultural Colleges, 4 Affiliated Colleges, 4 Horticulture Polytechnics, 7 Affiliated Horticultural Polytechnic Colleges, 19 Research Stations, and 4 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, totaling 42 institutions in Andhra Pradesh.

The university provides diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral-level courses to students. DDYSR admissions are determined on the basis of both merit and qualification in entrance exams.  DYSRHU Andhra Pradesh facilities include a hostel facility, department-based laboratories, a library, ATMs, an auditorium, a gym, and other facilities.
