72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned Offered by Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune.
Eligibility Criteria
Master’s Degree in Economics/Agricultural Economics/Population Studies/ Sustainable Development with at least 55 percent marks (50 percent for reserved category candidates i.e. SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS)/ DTNT/ VJNT and other categories of candidates as per the Government of Maharashtra Reservation Policy).
Admission Details
The candidates who have qualified UGC NET/ JRF/ SET or M.Phil. with 55 % marks through regular and not distance mode will be exempted from the GIPE entrance examination. They will be directly eligible for Ph.D. interviews. All other candidates have to undertake admission through the GIPE entrance examination mode.
