Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, was established in 2014, situated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand is a state university. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and it also provide various medical and health care courses. The university offers 106 courses offered in 11 degree specialising in medical field programmes. Spread in the area of New Central Hop Town, Bhayakhala, Seshambara, (Selaqui), Dehradun, the said campus caters for the medical education in the region.

The admissions of this University are conducted differently based on the programme of study offered in the department. For admission to MBBS the university considers the scores of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET-UG. Likewise, for postgraduate medical courses (MD/MS), every candidate is given admission through All India Rank of NEET-PG. The university also has exams for other programmes that it offers as part of entrance requirements for these programmes.
