About Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research, Chennai
Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research came into existence as deemed to be the university in 2004. The academy is popularly known as MAHER, established by the Meenakshi Ammal Trust. MAHER was ranked at 100th position in the University category by NIRF. The Institute offers courses in the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Health Sciences, Humanities and Science and Yoga Science and Therapy through its constituent Institutions. These constituent institutions include Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital, Meenakshi College of Nursing, Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing, and the Faculty of Physiotherapy and Hospital. The University has established three central research laboratories, with a large number of research projects, funded by DST, DBT and ICMR.
