Established in 2015, the National Institute of Design Vijayawada (NID Vijayawada or NID AP) operates as an autonomous entity under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NID Vijayawada is a premier design institute and Institute of National Importance.  

The campus size of the National Institute of Design Vijayawada is 50 acres. NID Vijayawada offers B.Des courses in 3 branches- Textile and Apparel Design, Industrial Design and Communication Design. Admissions to NID Vijayawada are done based on the performance of the candidate in NID DAT. Eligibility criteria for admissions in NID Vijayawada candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognised board. Candidates have to score valid scores in the qualifying entrance examinations to get into NID Vijayawada. Based on the scores secured in the NID DAT candidates will be allotted seats through the counselling process.
