Regional Institute of Management and Technology (RIMT) University was established in 1998 by the Government of Punjab under  Punjab Act No. 31 of 2015 & under section 2(f) of the UGC. It is recognised by UGC, BCI, AICTE, PCI, and COA. The University was founded by Shri Om Parkash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust. 

RIMT University offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in commerce, arts, engineering and technology, health science, art and design, agriculture, bio-science, nursing, paramedical, computer application, IT, humanities, library science, legal studies, journalism and others. The courses offered at RIMT are B.Sc Nursing, BA B.Ed Integrated, B.Pharma, D.Pharma, MBA, B.Arch, Ph.D Mechanical Engineering, BMLT, Diploma in Architecture Assistantship, B.Tech Civil Engineering, B.Com, B.Sc Information Technology, B.P.ES, BA Built Environment Studies Hons, MA Psychology, M.Sc Interior Design, MA Physical Education, M.Phil Agriculture Technology, M.Phil Chemistry, MFA Painting and various other programmes. 

RIMT provides various facilities to the students. These facilities include Wi-fi campus, cafeteria, hostels, library, seminar hall, auditorium, sports, gym, common rooms, medical centre, computer centre, labs and many more. The university has a dedicated placement cell which takes charge of all placement-related matters for students across departments. RIMT has over 500 campus recruiters and over 10 running startups. The cell aims to align recruiter expectations with the aspirations of our students to ensure better placements.
