Aishabai College of Education is a Mumbai-based college set up in 2005 that offers the best teacher education courses. Established as an affiliated college at J.J. Hospital Compound, Byculla, Mumbai, this institution has been producing future educators for nearly 18 years. Accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the B.Ed. program in the college provides a sound base for teacher training. As a private college, Aishabai College boasts a small working area of 2.55 acres with a total of 133 students currently studying in the college; out of them, 9 teachers make sure to give their students the necessary attention with a reasonable faculty-to-student ratio. 

Aishabai College of Education enjoys a number of amenities intended to improve the teaching and learning process of the would-be teachers. At the centre of these is the modern, well-stocked library for support of knowledge acquisition for students and learning for the faculty. It includes such areas as a reading hall, staffers’ corner, stock room, loan and reference sub-section, and periodicals sub-section. It also has subject-based laboratories, essential elements of practicals that are needed to train college teachers. In a bid to augment the overall growth of the students, our institution provides facilities for games and amateur drama through having an auditorium for cultural activities, seminars, etc. It understands the role of technology in tertiary education and thus has put in place good IT systems. Security is all important, with a medical facility equipped and available to handle first aid cases. The college also has a good relationship with the alumni through an association to make sure that the learners’ unity remains intact even after leaving college. 

Aishabai College of Education has made its core business to produce quality teachers through its B.Ed. programme. This is a two-year full-course programme that has an approved annual student’s capacity of one hundred. The purpose of the program is to prepare teachers who are knowledgeable and skilled to begin a teaching profession effectively. Although the college is currently only equipped with one mainstream degree programme, it imparts wide and sound training in teaching specialisations for a multitude of educational orientations.

Admission policy of Aishabai College of Education also follows the admission policy formulated of the State Government of Maharashtra and SNDT Women’s University. The admission process of various universities in Maharashtra includes CET, which all prospective students of Maharashtra must write. This makes it possible for the college to admit students who meet the requirement and have the ability to undertake a teaching profession.
