Ideal College of Education, Thane Admission Process
Ideal College of Education, Thane, is a purely private undergraduate institute where future educators are trained. The college, recognized and recommended by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), presents to its budding educators an environment that is conducive to learning spread across 6 acres of Kalyan, Maharashtra.
The admission procedure understandably aims at securing candidates that are worthy and passionate for the noble profession of teaching itself. The college offers three major courses, namely, Diploma in Education (D.Ed), Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), and Diploma in Teacher Education (D.T.Ed.). Each program lasts two academic years.
For the D.T.Ed program, the procedure for admission is based on a consolidated merit list prepared by listing the names of merit holders in the order of merit. This is prepared according to the marks obtained in the Standard XII examination. There is, however, a parallel mode of admission for the D.Ed and D.El.Ed. The admission for these shall be based on qualifications and ranking in the qualifying examination are Standard XII and an entrance examination or similar criteria as has been stated by the state government or UT Administration.
Application Process
To join Ideal College of Education, Thane, a few steps must be followed:
1. Eligibility Protection: You must make sure that you meet the basic eligibility criteria: Successful Completion of Standard XII from a recognized board.
2. Application Form: Obtain and fill out the application for the desired program-D.Ed, D.El.Ed, or D.T.Ed. Forms may be available from the college office.
3. Document Submission: Along with the application form, also submit the following documents, which may include:
X and XII std. mark sheets
School leaving certificate
Character certificate
Caste certificate (if applicable)
Recent passport-size photographs
4. Entrance Examination: For D.Ed and D.El.Ed programs, enter and prepare for the entrance examination wherever required by the state government policy.
5. Merit List: After the publication of the consolidated merit list on the basis of marks in Standard XII for the D.T.Ed program.
6. Counselling and Admission: If your name is shortlisted, you would present yourself for counseling at the college. In this session, your documents will be verified, which will take you through the final process of admission.
7. Fee Payment: Upon the confirmation of seat allotment, you will have to pay the necessary fees to reserve a seat under D.Ed for which the total fee is rupees 23,200.
8. Orientation Program: At the orientation program, you will be acquainted with the college, faculty, and course structure.
Degree-wise Admission Process
D.Ed (Diploma in Education): Total intake for D.Ed at Ideal College of Education: 50. Merit will be the basis for admission to this course, based either on the qualifying examination: Standard XII and enrollment under an entrance exam or any other selection process as determined by the state government. The course fee is Rs 23,200.
D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): Similar to the D.Ed. procedure works for D.El.Ed admission. Candidates get justified selection according to their performance in the qualifying examination and an entrance test or other processes according to government policies.
D.T.Ed (Diploma in Teacher Education): D.T.Ed carries a bigger intake capacity with 100 seats. Here, an aggregate merit list is prepared solely on the basis of marks secured by the students in the Standard XII examination, where all the applicants irrespective of caste or category will be arranged in order of merit.
