If you join under home state quota then for General Category Students securing a decent score of 220+ will fetch them a seat in SGSITS, while for OBC category consider the cut off score to be around 200. Students from other state may join the institute via but you will need a JEE score of around 230–250.

IET, Lucknow

It was ranked 4th best university by NIRF in 2020.

Courses: There are two courses for Masters in Computer Applications in IET Lucknow. The first course has 60 seats and is for duration of two years, while the second course is for a duration of 3 years. The courses are AICTE approved and have commendable faculty.

Facilities: The various facilities offered include boys and girls hostels, a library, cafeteria, sports complex, gym, medical facilities, shuttle service, auditorium and various labs.

Placement: The placement percent is about 50% - 60% with placements in companies like Byjus, Extramarks Education, Bajaj electrical etc with a average package of around 5 LPA. The highest package offered yet was 35 LPA.

IET is situated just out of Lucknow and is a good choice.

CSJMU, Kanpur

It has been ranked 143rd across India and 5368th globally .

Courses: CSJMU offers two courses in MCA. One is for duration of three years and the latter is for duration of two years. The courses are AICTE approved and the eligibility criteria is of the UPCET exam.

Facilities: The facilities offered are a spacious library, 3 girls hostels and 1 boys hostel, sports complex, labs, cafeteria, medical facilities, gym, auditorium and convenience store.

Placement: The placements for IT are fair, with 50% students getting placed at companies like reliance Nippon Life insurance, Easy Naukri, Eureka Forbes Pvt. Ltd and more. The average package offered is 3.4 LPA.

I'll be comparing both the colleges in every aspect so that you get a better idea.


Starting from the fee structure-Since, IET is a government college so obviously it's fees is less than JSS and JSS has a fee of almost double than IET.


FACULTY-Both the colleges have decent faculties which are quiet skillful but there are only few. The faculties are not that friendly.


Studies/environment-If you are planning for gate Or for higher studies than you can prefer IET because it has a good environment of competition.


Placement-if we talk about placements then IET has good placements for core branches and for CS/IT it's not that bad. Whereas, in jss the placements are good in CS/IT.almost 75% of students are placed every year. The average ranges around 3-3.5lpa.


To conclude I would suggest you to go for JSS as you are localized over there. As both the colleges have decent placements so i don't think it's worth it to choose IET over JSS.

Yes it is a private unaided college which offers various courses like Engineering,Nursing,Pharmacy etc.It also includes some basic dental courses.It is a good college known for its wide courses availability and also reliable infrastructure.But it is nit government or semi government it comes under private.

The eligiblity criteria for UPSC exam is that The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years (for the General category candidate) on 1 August of the year of examination. Prescribed age limits vary with respect to caste reservations.  The certificate eligiblity says that The candidate must hold a degree from Government recognised Universities or possess an equivalent qualification.

I hope you are doing good. I would glad to inform you that merrut institute of technology ranked amongst 120 rank in private university ranking of india . The placement scenario is very average in this university but most of the students get placed. The average package is around 3-4 lakhs per annum and highest went upto 6-6.5 lakhs per annum . More than 85 percent students got placed every year .
