About National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Kolkata
National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR) Kolkata is a special college that started in 1965 to help teachers and staff who work at technical schools and colleges. It was one of the first four colleges like this in India, supported by the government.
They give training to teachers and staff, and they also work on making technical education better in India. In 2003, the government made it a national institute because of its good work in improving technical education. NITTTR Kolkata is an autonomous college of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology Kolkata, and is recognised by AICTE.
National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research Kolkata courses include M.Tech Mechatronics Engineering, M.Tech Manufacturing Technology, M.Tech Multimedia Software Systems, M.Tech Structural Engineering, Ph.D Civil Engineering, Ph.D Computer Science and Engineering, Ph.D Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D Electrical Engineering. NITTTR Kolkata admission to the M.Tech course is granted through the GATE entrance exam. The Ph.D admissions are done based on merit.
NITTTR Kolkata does five main things, they teach and train teachers and staff, they help make the lessons and courses better, they create materials for learning, they study and find new ways to improve education, they help outside organisations and give advice.
