SMG Vishnu College of Nursing was set up in the year 2012 and is one of the reputed nursing colleges in Kolar, Karnataka. The nursing college, located in a 2.2 acre building, is recognised by the INC, which makes it provide quality educational programmes for nursing. The total strength of the student enrolment is 440 and the faculty is 15 which makes the atmosphere favourable for the students wanting to become nurses. SMG Vishnu College of Nursing provides two comprehensive nursing programmes: A four year B.Sc. Nursing course and a three-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course that prepares students to meet the needs and challenges in the profession.

SMG Vishnu College of Nursing affords two full-time courses in the field of nursing education. The B.Sc Nursing is one of the flagship programmes in the institute, and it has an approved annual student intake of 40 students. This course takes four years and offers a wide training ground for students in almost every area of the nursing profession in the market. The college also provides ageneral nursing and midwifery three-year course, although the college intake of this programme is unknown. Both courses are designed to be completed in one academic year, allowing for the students to get the best experience possible. Currently the total student enrolment at the college is 440, which clearly portrays a good number of students involved in nursing college.
