The admission to the course is on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination performance. The selection process is according to state government policy or UT administration. This two-year course is for candidates who are interested in teaching elementary school classes.

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education):
The 100 capacity B.Ed course is much desired by prospective teachers. The course is taken on the basis of merit taking into account marks secured in entrance examination and/or qualifying examination. Admission policy as directed by the State Government, UT administration, and parent university is followed by the college. The course is for two years, which prepares students for the secondary and senior secondary levels of teaching.

M.Ed (Master of Education):
The intake capacity for the M.Ed program in Sri Gowthami College of Education is 50 seats. Similar to the case of the B.Ed program, the admission process for M.Ed is also merit-based, taking into account the marks obtained at the entrance test and/or the qualifying examination. The process of selection follows the guidelines provided by the State Government, UT administration, and university. The two years of postgraduation are scheduled for those who want to improve their career in education and research.
