As per record Indian Institute Technology ,Madras having top placement's rather then others but it will depends you how to crack your interview .If you are talking amount package of  salary then it also depends upon lots of factors like which company you will get ,experience ,etc.. but as IIT students your minimum package will more then 6LPA but it will always vary and depends upon your skills .

This is a new course and placements are yet to be seen, however, the field of data science is one of the most promising field in the computer science and engineering and you can therefore expect good quality placements.

As for the actual figures can not be given, average pay of a data scientist is approx 6-8 LPA. Hope this helps.
