Both the colleges are good for placements.

Bt as we know IIT's are one among the top colleges of ASIA or even world. And maximum companies first approach to IIT then any other colleges. I am not telling that IIST is a bad college but by company point of view they first look for placement from IIT and then from any other colleges.

So go for IIT.
