Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a two-year full-time program that is the undergraduate level in the nursing course offered by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow.


Eligibility Criteria

  • a. Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate (12th Standard examination) or (10+2) or an equivalent exam recognized by the University for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986 will be eligible for admission. 
  • b. Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh (UP Nurses and Midwives Council). 
  • c. candidates who have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state will be eligible if their institution/college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. d. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with the State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration instead of midwifery in any one of the following areas:
  •  1) O.T. Techniques
  •  2) Ophthalmic Nursing 
  • 3) Leprosy Nursing 
  • 4) TB Nursing 
  • 5) Psychiatric Nursing 6) Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing 
  • 7) Community Health Nursing 
  • 8) Cancer Nursing
  •  9) Orthopaedic Nursing
