In 2014, Bankura University, Bankura was established. Bankura University, Bankura is a semi-government university. The university offers 33 UG courses, 13 PG courses and 15 doctoral programmes. Bankura University offers different fields of study such as Physical Education, Microbiology and Virology, Environmental Studies, Electronic Sciences and many more.

Bankura University courses are BA, BA (Hons), BSc, BSc (Hons), BCom, BCA, BBA LLB, LLM, MSW, MA, MSc and PhD. Admission into Bankura University is given based on merit in the last qualifying exam.
