Bodoland University is a state university established by the Bodoland University Act 2009, passed in the Assam legislative Assembly. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers around 38 full-time diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in the fields of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Computer Application, Management and Business Administration and Education. Some of the Bodoland University courses are Diploma, B.Sc, MBA, PGD, M.Com, M.Sc, MBA, M.A, MCA and Ph.D. Bodoland University also provides admission to B.Ed and M.Ed programmes.

Bodoland University admissions to various programmes are based on the marks in previous qualifying examinations and entrance examinations conducted by the university.
