Central University of Punjab is a public university established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). NAAC has accredited the university with an ‘A’ grade. Adding to it, the university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). CUPB campus is spread over an area of 37 acres and there are a total of 105 faculty members at the university. As per the website of the university, the mission of the Central University of Punjab is to promote innovation in teaching, learning, evaluation and research. The university provides 79 courses at postgraduate and doctoral levels. The university has secured 84th rank in the University category in NIRF 2021 Ranking with an overall score of 39.99 out of 100. It had secured 87th rank in the same category in NIRF 2020 Rankings.
Some of the popular courses offered by the varsity are M.Com, L.L.M, M.Pharma, M.Sc.etc. The university offers admission on the basis of the CUCET score. However, CUPB also accepts GATE and GPAT scores for admission in M.Tech and M.Pharma courses respectively. National Service Scheme (NSS): It aims to educate society about social values and rights. NSS works towards making students socially responsible.
The varsity campus has a well-stocked library that has over 44,000 books and hundreds of journals. Central University of Punjab offers separate accommodation facilities for the boys and girls students. The boys and girls hostels are situated within the campus. A modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 250 people is also available. Furthermore, Central University of Punjab facilities also include a canteen-cum-mess, modern gym, medical centre, laboratories etc. The students and faculty members of the university have access to the wifi.

For taking admission to the university postgraduates and doctoral courses, candidates need to appear for CUCET and obtain a valid score. Admission in postgraduate courses offered by the university is done based on the cutoff of CUCET. Central University of Punjab cutoff is released on the official website. Only candidates whose names are in the cutoff/merit list can take admission. The university releases cutoffs for multiple rounds of admissions. CUPB cut off is different for each programme. The CUCET cut off includes the registration number of the candidate, name of the candidate, marks obtained by candidates and category of the candidates. After meeting the cutoff requirements, candidates need to participate in the counselling conducted by the university.

The university has a placement cell that trains students and all also conduct placement activities at the campus. Central University (CU) of Punjab placement cell was established in 2018. There are a total of seven members in the placement cell. Central University of Punjab placement cell provides guidance to students and helps them in choosing the right career path. To improve students skills, the placement cell organises workshops, seminars and guest lectures by corporate professionals. Furthermore, the CUPB placement cell assesses industry needs and based on it design courses curriculums and prepare students. Apart from placements, it also provides internship opportunities to the non-final year students. As per the Central University of Punjab placement report for the academic year 2019-20, out of a pool of 577 PG students, 535 were eligible for placements. The university’s campus has all the necessary facilities and infrastructure required by students. A well-stocked library, boys hostel, girls hostel, gym, canteen, auditorium etc. are some of the Central University of Punjab facilities available at the campus. The library of the university has ample numbers of books, journals and newspapers. Both boys and girls hostels are located within the varsity premises. Apart from these facilities, the CUPB facilities list also includes a medical centre, wifi, transportation, laboratories, convenience store, guest room and a Bank. The Central University of Punjab also has sports facilities for students who have an interest in sports. The varsity has both indoor and outdoor sports facilities for students.
The infrastructure of Central University of Punjab is not up to mark. Because university is working in its temporary campus but all the necessary facilities are available there like classes, library, limited hostels & mess. It is the possibility that campus will shift up to December 2020 in 540 acre new campus. classrooms, library and laboratories equipped with projector & AC. If we talk about hostels, these are not much good for summers. Food is hygienic & living spaces & hostels are cleaned.
