    About Central University of Punjab, Bathinda

    Central University of Punjab is a public university established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009).  NAAC has accredited the university with an ‘A’ grade. Adding to it, the university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). CUPB campus is spread over an area of 37 acres and there are a total of 105 faculty members at the university. As per the website of the university, the mission of the Central University of Punjab is to promote innovation in teaching, learning, evaluation and research. The university provides 79 courses at postgraduate and doctoral levels.  The university has secured 84th rank in the University category in NIRF 2021 Ranking with an overall score of 39.99 out of 100. It had secured 87th rank in the same category in NIRF 2020 Rankings.      

    Some of the popular courses offered by the varsity are M.Com, L.L.M, M.Pharma, M.Sc.etc. The university offers admission on the basis of the CUCET score. However, CUPB also accepts GATE and GPAT scores for admission in M.Tech and M.Pharma courses respectively. Along with the CUCET score, the varsity also conducts a personal interview for admission in Ph.D programmes. Central University of Punjab focuses on the holistic development of the students. It has collaborations with several national and international institutes/universities.

    • National Service Scheme (NSS): It aims to educate society about social values and rights. NSS works towards making students socially responsible.

    The varsity campus has a well-stocked library that has over 44,000 books and hundreds of journals. Central University of Punjab offers separate accommodation facilities for the boys and girls students. The boys and girls hostels are situated within the campus. A modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 250 people is also available. Furthermore, Central University of Punjab facilities also include a canteen-cum-mess, modern gym, medical centre, laboratories etc. The students and faculty members of the university have access to the wifi. 

    The university also has facilities for students who are interested in sports. An indoor and outdoor badminton courts, table tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, athletic track and football ground are there inside the campus for students. A few more Central University of

    The varsity provides 79 courses at postgraduate and doctorate level. Engineering, management, commerce, pharmacy etc. stream courses are offered by the university.     Central University of Punjab Admissions 

    For taking admission to the university postgraduates and doctoral courses, candidates need to appear for CUCET and obtain a valid score. Candidates who have not appeared for CUCET can apply for Central University of Punjab admission. The university also accepts GATE score for M.Tech admissions and GPAT score for M.Pharma admissions. For admission in Ph.D programmes, candidates who qualified UGC/CSIR/ASRB-NET, ICMR-JRF, GATE, GPAT, DBT-BET and JEST (Physics) don't need to appear for the CUCET.     Central University of Punjab Cutoff

    Admission in postgraduate courses offered by the university is done based on the cutoff of CUCET. Central University of Punjab cutoff is released on the official website. Only candidates whose names are in the cutoff/merit list can take admission. The university releases cutoffs for multiple rounds of admissions. CUPB cut off is different for each programme.  The CUCET cut off includes the registration number of the candidate, name of the candidate, marks obtained by candidates and category of the candidates. After meeting the cutoff requirements, candidates need to participate in the counselling conducted by the university.

The job of the placement cell is to ensure placement drives are conducted smoothly and maximum numbers of companies participate and hire students. Central University of Punjab placement cell also helps students in improving their skills. It conducts seminars, workshops etc. to boost students' confidence. Along with placement opportunities, the placement cell also provides internship opportunities. Internships help students in knowing the professional world. According to the 2019-20 placement report of the university, 112 postgraduate students got placed and 120 students decided to pursue higher studies.

    Central University of Punjab, Bathinda Placements

    The university has a placement cell that trains students and all also conduct placement activities at the campus. Central University (CU) of Punjab placement cell was established in 2018. There are a total of seven members in the placement cell. Central University of Punjab placement cell provides guidance to students and helps them in choosing the right career path. To improve students skills, the placement cell organises workshops, seminars and guest lectures by corporate professionals. Furthermore, the CUPB placement cell assesses industry needs and based on it design courses curriculums and prepare students. Apart from placements, it also provides internship opportunities to the non-final year students. As per the Central University of Punjab placement report for the academic year 2019-20, out of a pool of 577 PG students, 535 were eligible for placements. Out of 535 eligible students, 112 students got placed and 120 students opted for higher studies.

    The university’s campus has all the necessary facilities and infrastructure required by students.     CUPB is best for PG and PhD for Commerce and Science stream.

    College Infrastructure

    The infrastructure of Central University of Punjab is not up to mark. Because university is working in its temporary campus but all the necessary facilities are available there like classes, library, limited hostels & mess. It is the possibility that campus will shift up to December 2020 in 540 acre new campus. classrooms, library and laboratories equipped with projector & AC. If we talk about hostels, these are not much good for summers. Food is hygienic & living spaces & hostels are cleaned.
