Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha was established under the Government of Maharashtra. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). DMIMS received the status of Deemed to be University on May 24, 2005. The institute is spread over an area of 125 acres offering various academic and infrastructural facilities to the students including auditorium, hostels, guest house, food court, library, computer hub, stationary stores, shopping complex etc. DMIMS DU, Wardha has also formed various clubs to provide a platform to students to hone their skills and encourage them to participate in various extracurricular activities.

Clubs, Committees & Societies:-
Sports Club- The Sports Club of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha has been formed to develop the skills and interests of students in sports. This club aims to promote a healthy and fit lifestyle by engaging students more in sports activities. Various events and competitions are also conducted by the members of this club. The members of this club also conduct various sports and recreational activities on National Sports Day.
Literary Society- The main objective of Literary Society of DMIMS, Wardha is to encourage the literary talent of the students and enhance their creativity skills. The members of this club are always thrilled about learning new topics and exploring ideas. This Club also conducts various quiz competitions inside the institute campus.
NSS- National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Youth Programme which is established under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Students have also conducted various programmes under this scheme including international yoga day, blood donation, leprosy campaign, swachh bharat, literary campaign, mass cleaning, mass tree plantation, road traffic awareness, sand sculpturing, polio vaccine, disaster management, PFMS training etc. to spread awareness among the common people.
NCC- N.C.C has been formed inside DMIMS DU, Wardha to show the importance of living a disciplined life among students which also helps them contribute their part towards the development of the country. The students of the N.C.C group also take part in various other activities including parasailing, paragliding, paradropping, training camps, National Integration camps, rock climbing and mountaineering activities like boat pulling/sailing and ship modelling etc.
Rotaract Club- The Rotaract Club aims to develop the skills of students by motivating them to learn and excel in various areas. The members of this club are encouraged to develop their professional and leadership skills.
Youth Red Cross Society- The vision of the Youth Red Cross is to become a leading humanitarian organization serving vulnerable people. The members of the club regularly take part in the various events and promote humanitarian services in society.
Health Club- The Health Club of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha aims to promote health living by practising yoga and meditation among students. Students are encouraged to engage themselves more in physical activities to keep themselves physically active and fit.

Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha admissions are offered to MBBS and BDS programmes based on NEET UG scores, to M.D and M.S programmes based on NEET PG scores, to D.M and M.Ch programmes based on NEET SS scores, to MDS programmes based on NEET MDS scores, to Ph.D programmes based on AIPHDCET scores followed by an interview and to B.Sc Nursing/ B.P.Th/ BAMS programmes based on MH CET scores. Students also need to appear for the All India level NEET counselling process where seats are allotted based on NEET scores. Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS programme need to appear and qualify NEET (UG).
