Hello,
To avail DTU's Home State and OBC-NCL quotas , you need the following documents:
OBC-NCL Certificate (issued after April 1, 2024, in prescribed format).
Class 12 Marksheet .
Class 10 Certificate (for age proof).
Identity Proof (Aadhar, Passport, etc.).
Residential Proof (if applicable).
Income Proof (for OBC-NCL, if income is below Rs.8 lakh).
You can avail both quotas if eligible.
Hope it helps !
With a JEE Main percentile of 89.3 and an AIR of around 1.5 lakh, getting admission to DTU or NSUT under the SC category is unlikely, as the closing ranks for top branches like CSE and IT are much lower (around 1.2 lakh).
What You Can Do:
Explore other colleges where your rank may be eligible.
Consider state quota options in Uttar Pradesh.
Look into private universities with different criteria.
Hi aspirant,
Delhi Technological University (DTU) admits students to its undergraduate programs, including the highly sought-after Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs, based on JEE Main scores. DTU, like most engineering institutes in Delhi, admits students based on their JEE Main scores and does not offer direct admission. As a result, Indian candidates are often unable to gain direct admission to B.Tech programs without first taking the JEE Main or undergoing separate counseling given directly by DTU.
However, there may be some exceptions and alternate pathways for admission for Management Quota students and Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO, as Delhi Technological University has a separate admission process for Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), as well as admission to some other undergraduate programs.

All the best!
For someone aiming for a career in software or technology, NSUT's ICE (Instrumentation and Control Engineering) program might be a better fit due to its closer curriculum to Computer Science and the potential for software job opportunities. DTU's Mechanical program, on the other hand, is known for its strong core engineering focus and better infrastructure for mechanical engineering. NSUT ICE placement has a decent record, with 70% of students getting placed, some even with higher packages of up to INR 40 LPA. DTU's Mechanical program also has good placement rates, with a placement percentage of around 69.08% in 2023.
Lets compare
NSUT ICE:
Good placement opportunities in both tech and non-tech roles.
A closer curriculum to CSE, offering more chances to pursue software jobs.
NSUT's placement records for ICE show a placement rate of 70%.
Highest package can reach INR 40 LPA, with a lowest package of INR 4 LPA.
DTU Mechanical:
Known for its strong core engineering focus and infrastructure.
Higher packages can be offered for mechanical engineering, potentially reaching INR 31.00 LPA.
DTU has good placement rates, with a placement percentage of around 69.08% in 2023.
Average package for mechanical engineering is around INR 11.23 LPA.
In Conclusion:
If your preference is for software-related roles, NSUT ICE might be a better option due to its curriculum and placement opportunities.
If you are leaning towards a core mechanical engineering career, DTU's Mechanical program, with its strong infrastructure and reputation, could be a better choice.
Good luck for your future endeavours!!
Hi aspirant,
Admission to the MBA program at Delhi Technological University (DTU) is mostly determined by Common Management Admission Committee (CMAC) counseling. Fill out a single online application form on the CMAC website. Eligibility typically requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60%. DTU accepts valid scores from the CAT and MAT entrance tests. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview and document verification. A composite merit list is generated based on your admission exam score and interview performance. Keep an eye on the CMAC website for application dates, which are presently open until May 4, 2025, as well as other crucial dates in the admissions process.
All the best!
Hello Kavya,
If your main interest is in CSE , then go for CSE in MAIT via IPU .
Even though DTU is a better college overall, getting a branch you are not interested in (like Mechanical) may not keep you motivated. In the long run, branch matters more than college , especially in fields like computer science where there are many job opportunities.
But if you are open to learning coding on your own and want the DTU tag, you can still take Mechanical at DTU and try for branch change later (though it's not easy and depends on first-year performance), or you can learn coding side-by-side.
But to keep it simple:
If CSE is your priority , go for MAIT CSE .
If college name matters more to you , then you can think about DTU Mechanical .
Hope this helps !
Hello there,
With a 69.77 percentile in JEE Main 2025 and an SC category , the chances of getting into NSUT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology) or DTU (Delhi Technological University) are low for core branches like CSE, ECE , and EEE . These branches typically require a higher percentile.
However, you may still have a chance in the following scenarios:
NSUT and DTU :
For branches like
Mechanical, Civil, or Biotechnology
, you may have a possibility, but it will depend on the specific opening and closing ranks during
JOSAA Counselling
.
These colleges typically have higher closing ranks for popular branches.
State Counselling
: Since you belong to the
SC category
, you may have a better chance through
Delhi State Counselling
or other reservation-based counselling processes, which could offer you a seat in less competitive branches.
Private Colleges : You can also explore private engineering colleges in Delhi or nearby regions where your rank might be competitive, especially for non-core branches.
Keep an eye on the JOSAA Counselling rounds and state counselling processes for further opportunities.

With a 98.55 percentile and rank of 22325 in JEE Main, your son has a reasonable chance of getting into a CSE or related branch at DTU (Delhi Technological University), especially if he's a Delhi region candidate.
DTU's CSE cutoff for general category candidates outside Delhi typically falls within the 10,000-12,000 rank range. A rank of 22325 might be a little high for CSE, but not impossible. It depends on the specific year's competition and seat availability.
You can predict the college here -:
Hii,
To get into the MBA program at Delhi Technological University (DTU) for 2025, you need a bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD) for the general MBA, or 50% (40% for SC/ST/PwD) for specializations like Business Analytics or Family Business & Entrepreneurship. For the Executive MBA, 2-3 years of work experience is required. You must take the CAT, MAT, or CMAT exam and get a good score—around 85 percentile in CAT for general category, though this can vary.
Apply online through the CMAC portal (cmacadmissions.com) between February and March 2025, submitting your exam scores, academic records, and ID proof. The application fee is INR 1,500 (INR 750 for SC/ST/PwD). DTU shortlists candidates based on exam scores, then invites them for Centralized Counselling, which includes a Group Discussion and Personal Interview to assess communication, analytical skills, and fit for the program. For the Executive MBA, there might be a written test too.
Final selection depends on your exam score, GD/PI performance, academics, and work experience (if applicable). Selected candidates verify documents like degree certificates and pay the course fee, around INR 2.87–2.95 lakh for two years. The process wraps up with seat allotment through CMAC based on your rank and preferred institute.
DTU offers full-time MBA programs through the Delhi School of Management and University School of Management & Entrepreneurship, with about 40 seats for the regular MBA and 75 for the Executive MBA. Check dtu.ac.in or cmacadmissions.com for exact dates and updates, and contact mbaadmissions@dtu.ac.in (mailto:mbaadmissions@dtu.ac.in) or +91-11-27871018 for queries.
Hello,
No, CBSE private candidates usually do not need a Transfer Certificate (TC ) from a school for admission to government colleges like NITs and DTU.
Since private candidates are not enrolled in any school during their board exams, they typically don't have a TC. However, a Migration Certificate is important and should be obtained from CBSE after passing the exam.
Hope it helps !
