Hello dear student !
Now a days, in order to get admission in any master courses in India in good college or university, there is a proper entrance exam . Same case is in West Bengal. In order to take admission in good colleges and universities in West Bengal in msc botany , physiology or zoology, you have to appear in the entrance exam conducted by the respective institution. For example, calcutta university conduct entrance exam for the same. Though , in some colleges the admission is just merit based and you just need to apply to these colleges.

Careers360 shortlists over 5000 colleges across domains each year. Out of these colleges, only those colleges are rated/ranked which provide transparent data requested by Careers360. The University has Hostel accommodation with a capacity of 100 is presently under construction and will be made available to students enrolled in a Master's degree program and research in the forthcoming 2019-20 session. Candidates from low-income groups (to be decided by the University) and those located at long traveling distances from the university will be given preference during the selection for accommodation. Hostel facilities will include the availability of: Drinking water Subsidised food Hygienic ambiance Computers WiFi networks Reading Room.
The University has allotted a medical room on the ground floor (no. 103) of the Academic building, in which it has a stretcher; a wheelchair cum bed, and an almirah consisting of first aid kits. Apart from making provisions to keep a doctor on call, the University has tie-up with two Government hospitals in the vicinity, Diamond Harbour Super-specialty Hospital, and Amtala Hospital, to take immediate action in case of any emergency concerning the students, designated officials, teaching and non-teaching staffs and others.
The University Central Library of the Diamond Harbour Women’s University is located at a convenient position on the ground floor of the Academic Building. This Library not only caters to the present students, research scholars, and staff, but also the alumni as well as independent researchers and academicians unrelated to the University (Please refer to the “Extended Services” section below for further details). Books - The University Central Library has approximately 6000 books in Bengali, English, and other Indian languages. The Library is also enriched by collections donated by several academicians. Journals and Newspapers - The Library also houses nearly 25 journals of varied academic interests. It also regularly subscribes to 3 daily newspapers of national repute and 2 employment weeklies to cater to the students. Cartography - The University Central Library boasts a wide range of cartographic charts. Online Resources E-books: Keeping in tandem with modern technologies, the Departmental Libraries of the University facilitates e-learning for the students who usher in a highly digitalized era. The Library boasts nearly 3000 e-books as of January 2019. The University Website also links to e-PG Pathshala and various online resources. Reading Room: The Central Library of the University accommodates about 40 people in its well-maintained Reading Room. The Journal and the Reference Sections are also accessible in the Reading Room. There is a separate reading section for the members of the teaching faculty. Digital Library: The University Central Library has a Digital Reading Room with ample computers providing high-speed internet connection. Reprography: The Central Library of the University permits limited reprography for rare and reference books for the use of the students and researchers. The University has arrangements for cheap reprography on the first floor of its Studentsâ€™ Activity Centre, located strategically between the Academic Building and the upcoming Studentsâ€™ Hostel.
The University is committed to the all-round development of its students and staff. There is a facility for indoor and outdoor games for students. The facilities provided are: Indoor Games Table Tennis Fresh fruits are kept in the canteen on a regular basis. Carrom Dumb-Bells, Skipping Ropes, Floor Mats for Exercise Outdoor Games Volleyball Badminton Football.
The University has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
The University has its own canteen in a large, spacious compound located strategically near the Academic Building as well as the Students’ Hostel. The University arranges LTI for running the canteen and the highest bidder gets to serve the canteen as per the prevailing laws. The University has its dedicated Canteen Committee to supervise the activities of the canteen on a regular basis and direct the staff of the canteen accordingly for hygienic and student-friendly preparation of consumables. Some key aspects of the University Canteen are: The importance is given for the preparation of nourishing, wholesome meals instead of fast foods that are detrimental to health. Junk Foods are not encouraged. Fresh fruits are kept in the canteen on a regular basis. Students are encouraged to take indigenous beverages like Lassi in the summer months instead of carbonated beverages, considering the health aspect. The Canteen is cleaned on a regular basis for maintaining hygiene. Apart from these, the following facilities are available for the students in the University Canteen: A sitting arena separate from the Kitchen, with ample chairs and tables. Ample washbasins with a mirror installed. Wall-mounted Television Set with STB. Refrigerator. Refrigerated Ice-Cream Box. Fixed Price Chart clearly displayed. Curtains installed in the windows.

The University has two air-conditioned smart classrooms in its Academic Building (First and Second Floors) for facilitating ICT-supported academic activities. Both classrooms can accommodate nearly 100 students.
