In 2013, Diamond Harbour Women's University, South 24 Parganas was established. Diamond Harbour Women's University is a state government university and is located in West Bengal. The university offers 20 PG courses and 12 Doctoral courses. 

Diamond Harbour Women's University offers many courses with a theoretical blend. Departments in which the courses are offered are the Department of Bengali, Department of Political Science, Department of Mathematics, Department of Women's Studies and many more.

Diamond Harbour Women's University courses are MSc, MA, MPhil and PhD. Admission into PG courses at Diamond Harbour Women's University is made based on merit in the qualifying exam followed by a counselling process. 

Whereas admission into M.Phil programme is done based on GATE scores and for PhD programme is contingent on the merit in the qualifying exam followed by the interview process.
