Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University, also known as NLU Sonipat, was established in 2012. The NLU Sonipat offers courses in law disciplines such as the  5-year integrated BA LLB course and PGD Corporate Law. NLU Sonipat BA LLB admissions are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is organised by the Consortium of National Law Universities in December. NLU Sonipat PGD admission is offered on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying examinations. To finalise admission to the NLU Sonipat BA LLB course, candidates who qualified for CLAT must attend the online counselling session.

Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University offers financial assistance to deserving students through scholarships. The candidates who meet the selection criteria and NLU Sonipat cutoff marks can join the full-time programmes offered by the institute. The DBRANLU Sonipat is fully equipped with state-of-art infrastructure and modern facilities. The newly built NLU Sonipat campus is wifi-enabled and has air-conditioned classrooms, library and hostel facilities. NLU Sonipat also has an internship and placement cell to help students find job opportunities and provide career guidance.
