72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Agriculture shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned, a course offered by Gopal Narayan Singh University, Rohtas.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme in the NIAS shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination in the concerned main discipline with a credit-based course programme securing the minimum 6.5/10 or 2.5/4 or 3.5/5 or 4.0/6 OGPA for general candidates and OGPA of 6.0/10, 2.0/4, 3.0/5, 3.5/6 for SC/ST/OBC candidates. A candidate must not have more than one IIIrd division or equivalent grade point average in his/her academic career.
Admission Details
1. All admissions to Ph.D. Programme in the Gopal Narayan Singh University shall be made through an All India Ph. D. Admission Test by the Gopal Narayan Singh University i.e., Gopal Narayan Singh University Ph.D. Admission Test (GPAT).
2. Admission to various Ph.D. programs under GPAT Exempted Category: A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as National Eligibility Test (NETJRF), NT-LS (without fellowship), Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) accredited by UGC, shall be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. programme without appearing in the GPAT but they have to fill up the application form. They would be required to qualify in an interview to be eligible for consideration for registration for a Ph.D. in the concerned discipline.
