72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time Doctoral program and it is offered by Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate should have passed in M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag.)/M.Tech./M.E. in Microbiology / Agricultural Microbiology / Soil Science and / OR Agricultural Chemistry / Genetics / Botany / Agricultural Botany / Molecular Biology and / OR Biotechnology / Relevant Life Sciences / Biochemistry with Microbiology as a special subject/ Environmental Microbiology/ Industrial Microbiology.
Admission Details
Admission to the Ph.D. courses in 26 disciplines shall be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in the written entrance examination (80% weightage) + academic score (10% weightage) + interview (10% weightage). Entrance examination will consist of one paper of three parts : Part I (General Agriculture) and Part II & III (Subject Paper) and academic score shall be calculated on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in various examinations from matric (X standard) onwards.
