Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time Doctoral program and it is offered by Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.


Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have passed in M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag.)/M.Tech./M.E. in Horticulture or Agriculture with major in Olericulture/ Vegetable Science/Vegetable Breeding/ Genetics and/OR Plant Breeding/Plant Genetic Resources with specialization in Vegetable Science.

Admission Details

Admission to the Ph.D. courses in 26 disciplines shall be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in the written entrance examination (80% weight age) + academic score (10% weight age) + interview (10% weight age). Entrance examination will consist of one paper of three parts: Part I (General Agriculture) and Part II & III (Subject Paper) and academic score shall be calculated on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in various examinations from matric (X standard) onwards.
