12 MonthsThe Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism (English) is a one-year full-time postgraduate diploma course offered by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.
Course objectives: The students will receive a broad perspective of the communication field over the course of two semesters. The emphasis will be on imparting ethics and values needed to promote a free, fair, and objective media. Through a combination of theory and practical sessions, students will encounter new and evolving techniques in reporting, editing, production, and distribution. Over the course, students will report, edit, and produce lab journals and other publications.
Topics covered: Communication: Concepts, Processes and Theories; History of Journalism and Role of the Press; Media Laws and Ethics; Reporting and Editing; Radio & TV Journalism; Development Journalism; Media Management; Advertising & PR; and Digital Journalism.
The candidate must have passed. Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply.
