60 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pathology is five years program offered at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Puducherry with the approval of National Medical Commission.
Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of five years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification as given below with a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade in any one of the following examinations.
M.Sc. / M. Phil. Degree / PG degree in any branch of Life Sciences of a recognized University.
OR
M.B.B.S. Degree of recognized University.
OR
DM/M.Ch./MD/DNB or equivalent Degree.
OR
Qualified in any one of the three National Eligibility Tests (NET) for Ph.D. – JRF under DBT /DST/ ICMR / UGC.
JRF qualified candidates also have to submit an application through the online process.
However, they need not appear for the entrance test. They will be placed in the merit order based on their scores along with the candidates who have appeared for JIPMER Entrance Test and will be counseled for their option. The candidates can choose any one of the disciplines available for the Ph.D. Programs at the time of counseling.
