Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is three-years (6 Semesters ) full-time program offered by School of Indian Legal Thought AT Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
The LL.B course shall be of three years duration consisting of six semesters. Each semester shall consist of six papers. The total number of papers in the course shall include, among other additional papers, twenty compulsory papers, six optional papers and four papers on practical training, carrying hundred marks each as prescribed by the Bar council of India. The timing of the LL.B course shall be from 4 PM to 9 PM on all working days including Saturday. However the timing during the Sixth Semester of the course shall be from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days.
The number of students admitted to the course shall be limited to Fifty.
Admission to the course shall be governed by the Acts, Rules, Regulations and Notifications in force and issued by the Government, University and other Statutory Authorities at the relevant time.
A person who has obtained a Bachelors degree of this University or of any other University recognised as equivalent there to by this University in any discipline with not less than 45 per cent marks in the aggregate (42 % per cent for OBC and 40% for SC/ST) can apply for admission to the Three Year Unitary LL.B Degree Course.
Explanation- The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or Graduation / Post graduation through Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies are not eligible for admission in the law course.
