School of legal studies,Cochin University of science and technology which is situated in kochin have Library is the only good facility available there. The infrastructure of the college and campus is very poor. So is that of the university hostel. Both lack basic cleanliness and there is no renovation that happens there. Students who can afford private hostels seldom stay in the university hostel.
I have completed my LLM degree from here .The curriculum and syllabus is not very bad. However the college could have offered more electives. Other than that, it tries to cover pretty much everything. However, the faculty is not very great. Most teachers come late and disperse the classes early.
Placement are not that much good of this college.students were disappointed with the management.School of Legal Studies is perhaps the only department in CUSAT that does not have placements. This is an issue for most of the students joining here. Most of the students pursue graduation in the hope of recruitment. The package of the students who choose to practice after under graduation is not very appealing.
I can say the extra curriculum activity was impressive.
Since it is a government college, there are only minimum facilities and infrastructure present. Among the avilable infrastructure Libraries and hostels are well maintained. Overall for the fees being paid, infrastructure available is satisfactory.
I studied Bcom LLB (Hons) at SLS, CUSAT.It is a 5 year integrated course. The quality of teaching and teachers are very good. The curriculum gets updated regularly according to the developments in the field.
Since SLS is a Government college, placement opportunities are minimal. Since 2022 there is a placement cell working which is run mostly by students itself. Therefore students mostly job hunt on their own after studies.
The course cost around 50000 a year. This is only reasonable considering the quality of education and the facilities available. In comparison to private colleges the fees SLS provide good quality education within reasonable fees.
The college campus is one of the best that is present in Kerala, it is a huge property consisting of various departments and thousands of students in different departments. There are a lot of activities to be engaged in like sports, arts etc
You cannot expect a great infrastructure here. Even the water cooler is not in a usable state. Its ok,you can either bring water bottles or get is from your friends. The department is not attractive.so dont expect much about the infrastructure.
Academics is really good here. The permanent faculty is highly experienced. They teach very well.only thing is you have to pay attention.Teachers helps you in almost everything if you go to them. They even helps you in getting internships and participating in competitions
Placement oppurtunities are comparitively low. faculty are helpful and experienced. can always go to them for any internships or competition advices .. Even for placements you can approach them. The college do not really have a active placement cell.
