60 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in International Relations shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of five years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by North East Christian University, Dimapur.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must satisfy the following eligibility requirements as per UGC norms:
A Master’s degree from a recognized Indian University or any other equivalent degree to the satisfaction of the Academic bodies of the university, in the relevant field, with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is applied.
A relaxation of 5% of marks to SC/ST/OBC/Differently-Abled and such other categories as per the decision of the Central and State Governments.
Admission Details
An applicant will be shortlisted for an interview based on his/her score on The Research Entrance Aptitude Test (TREAT). The final selection for admission to the Ph.D. will be based on the candidates’ performance in the interview subject to scoring minimum marks.
***For SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layers)/Differently-Abled category, the Entrance Examination Score is a minimum of 45%.
Candidates shall have qualified in the NET/SLET/SET examination or have an M.Phil. Degrees in the concerned subject from UGC-recognized universities are exempted from the entrance test (TREAT) and directly appear in the interview.
