Purnea University Purnia is a state university that was established in 2016 under the Bihar State University Act. It was formed to cater to the needs of higher education in the Purnea Division spread over four districts namely Purnea, Araria, Kishanganj, and Katihar. Purnea University comprises 9 constituent colleges, and 11 affiliated colleges.
