Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University is a public university inaugurated by the then honorable chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy in 2005. The varsity is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also known as SVVU Tirupati. The university has a total of 53 faculty members. As per the official website of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, its mission is to facilitate sustainable growth and development of livestock and allied sectors by building competent human resources. 

The varsity offers a total of 25 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Some of the courses offered by the university are B.Tech, B.V.Sc., M.Tech., M.V.Sc. etc. SSVU Tirupati accepts AP EAMCET for admission to all its UG courses. For admission to PG courses, candidates need to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the university. The varsity has collaborations with numerous industries to provide training and practical experience to students. Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University provides scholarships to minority students. The campus of the varsity has plenty of facilities for students. The facilities at the campus are modern and upgraded. Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University facilities are a library that has adequate books and reading materials, separate boys and girls hostels for the accommodation of students etc. The hostels at the campus are well furnished and equipped with basic facilities. SVVU Tirupati Admission

Candidates can take admission to UG, PG and doctoral courses offered by the university. Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University admission to undergraduate courses is done based on marks candidates in AP EAMCET. In order to take admission to postgraduate courses, the university conducts an entrance examination. SVVU Tirupati admission to Ph.D programmes is given based on performance in the entrance examination and a personal interview conducted by the university. Candidates need to visit the admission portal of the university to fill the application form. It must be noted that only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for admission to courses offered by the university.

The university offers a large number of scholarships to the students. Students who are from a financially weaker section of the society can apply for SVVU Tirupati scholarships. Students who are from SC & ST and BC are offered a scholarship of Rs. 962 and Rs. 1200 by the state government respectively. As per the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University scholarship policy, students are required to meet the eligibility criteria of the desired scholarship. It invites companies to participate in the placements and provide jobs to the students. Along with placement opportunities, students are also offered internship opportunities. As per the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University placement report 2019-20, a total of 208 students got placed. Students of PG 2 year programmes were offered the maximum median salary of Rs. 7,00,000. In the 2019-20 placements, 71 students from UG 5 year courses got placed and 107 opted for higher education.
