24 MonthsMaster of Arts (MA) in Sanskrit is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by The University of Jammu, Jammu. The aim of the Department is not only to teach the Sanskrit language and literature but also to enrich the eternal values to preserve ancient Indian culture, With the establishment of Phonetic Laboratory, Department has the objective to involve the students and scholars with the new scientific trends to meet the modern developments in the society. To spread the Sanskrit language among the common people, Department is also running Sanskrit Speaking Course. The tradition of creativity is still alive in the Department through research.
Eligibility Criteria
A Candidate seeking admission to the programme in Sanskrit must have passed/appeared in the final year of Bachelor degree examination with Sanskrit as an elective/additional subjects. A candidate with Honors examination in Sanskrit or Masters degree in Hindi or Shastri/Acharya from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed University, Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, or any University/ Institution recognized by UGC and Bachelor degree in any discipline/subject with 60% or more marks, in any UGC recognized University/Institution is also eligible.
Admission Details
Admission to a programme of study in the University shall be made on the basis of written objective type Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) by the Admission Committee of the Department concerned with the approval of the Dean Academic Affairs.
