24 MonthsMaster of Arts (MA) in Sociology is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by The University of Jammu, Jammu.
Eligibility Criteria
A Candidate to be eligible for admission to MA Sociology Must have passed or appeared in the qualifying examination in sociology shall be eligible for admission to MA Sociology provided that;
- A Candidate who has passed in the qualifying examination not with Sociology but with any of the following subject: namely Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, History, Psychology, Education, Social Work and Philosophy securing at least 55% of the aggregate marks provided that number of such candidates admitted to the course shall not exceed 20% of the total number of open merit seats.
- A Candidate who has passed BCom/BBA/BSc/BSc Agriculture/BSc Home Science/LLB (Profesional) examination securing 60% of the aggregate marks shall also be eligible provided that a number of such candidates admitted to the course shall not exceed 20% of the total number of open merit seats.
Admission Details
Admission to a programme of study in the University shall be made on the basis of written objective type Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) by the Admission Committee of the Department concerned with the approval of the Dean Academic Affairs.
