24 Months- Master of Science (MSc) in Statistics is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by The University of Jammu, Jammu.
- The Department of Statistics came into existence in the year 1988 with the aim of providing quality education in the field of Statistics: to develop the subject of Statistics with its application and usefulness to the society: to provide qualified and trained Statisticians for the economic, social, administrative, planning and academic development of the society. Presently, the thrust areas where research is undertaken in the department are Sample Survey, Reliability, Information Theory, Biostatistics, and Statistical inference. Statistics
Eligibility Criteria
A Candidate seeking admission to the programme must have passed/appeared in final year of Bachelor's degree examination with Statistics/Mathematics as one of the core subjects in all the three years. However, the candidates with statistics will be considered under preferences and thereafter candidates with Mathematics subject would be considered under second preference.
Admission Details
Admission to a programme of study in the University shall be made on the basis of written objective type Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) by the Admission Committee of the Department concerned with the approval of the Dean Academic Affairs.
