Jyoti B Ed College, Fazilka Admission Process

Jyoti B.Ed College, Fazilka is an eminent institution for teacher training, situated in the Fazilka District of Punjab, India. The college follows an extensive admission process through which the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Panjab University Chandigarh, and the Punjab Government provide guidelines. By being a co-educational institution, it offers educational courses that are professional in nature, aspiring for excellence in training teachers. The admission process at Jyoti B.Ed College is mainly through merit, by the percentage of the qualifying marks obtained in qualifying or entrance examinations as per the programs.

1. Notification: The college admission notifications on various platforms, including official websites and other media promotions, announce the opening of courses for applications.

2. Application Form: Candidates fill in the application form which is available for downloading through the college's admissions webpage or can be obtained from the college admission office.

3. Document Submission: The duly filled application form along with relevant documents needs to be submitted, which generally includes:

  • Passport-size photographs
  • Marksheets for qualifying examinations to apply for both 10th, 12th, and graduation/post-graduation
  • Valid ID proof
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other certificate/document specified by college

4. Application Fee: Only candidates who pay the non-refundable application fee will be considered eligible for admission. Modes of payment and amounts will be indicated during the admission announcement.

5. Entrance Test/Merit List: Program-wise entrance examinations or merit lists based on the qualifying examination are also options to which the candidates must react.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed course at Jyoti B.Ed College is offered as a two-year full-time course with an admission of 100 students per academic year. Accordingly, admission to the B.Ed course is subject to the eligibility criteria stated in the rules and guidelines of the NCTE and Panjab University Chandigarh and Punjab Government. Selection priority was given to applicants' merit on the basis of qualifying examinations or an entrance test, subject to policy in force at the time. Reservations as laid down by Government are also adhered at the time of admissions.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): D.El.Ed is a two-year diploma course in which 50 students are enrolled each year. Admission is strictly through merit based on the score of the qualifying examination. Admission also requires an entrance exam or any other selection conducted in accordance with the policy outlined by the state government, U.T. Administration, and the university. This will form the final merit list, and the admission shall proceed based on it.
