Knowledge Valley College of Education, Malda Admission Process

Knowledge Valley College of Education, Malda, is one of the well-reputed institutions for teacher training, in Azimpur, West Bengal. The college affiliated with the University of Gour Banga lays its main emphasis on quality education and the development of future teachers. On account of NCTE approval, the status of the institution maintains high educational standard. The procedure of admission for Knowledge Valley College of Education selects only the deserving on the basis of merit. The college has laid down its admission basis and methodology, to the people of the state government, Union Territory administration, and the affiliated university. 

The institute offers two full-time courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) for two years and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) for two years. Admissions for B.Ed. courses are done based on the merit of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations and/or entrance examinations held for that purpose. The D.El.Ed program follows the same pattern, with marks in the qualifying exam and/or entrance test results considered.  

Application Process

The application procedure for Knowledge Valley College of Education, Malda, consists of the following stages:

1. Notification: Admission notifications are issued by the college through various media sources and published on the official college website.

2. Application form: Candidates are required to obtain and fill out an application form, which may be made available online from the college website or can be collected from the college office.

3. Document submission: Along with the duly filled application form, candidates need to submit the following documents:

  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10+2 for D.El.Ed.; Graduation/Post-graduation for B.Ed.)
  • Valid ID proof
  • 3 recent passport-size photographs
  • Any other documents as specified by the college or as per government norms.

4. Entrance examination: As per program and current admission policy, candidates may have to appear for an entrance examination. The college shall communicate to candidates the syllabus and exam pattern.

5. Merit list preparation: A merit list is prepared program-wise on the basis of marks received in qualifying examinations and/or entrance test results. 

6. Counseling and seat allocation: After completion of stages 1 through 5, suitable candidates will be called for counseling, during which the final allotment of seats will be done on the basis of merit and preference of the candidates.

7. Fee payment: Selected candidates must pay the required fees before the deadline to get their admission confirmed.

8. Document verification: The college will do a thorough check of all the submitted documents before finalization of admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): This B.Ed. program at Knowledge Valley College of Education has an intake of 100 seats. The course uses a merit system of admission whereby marks obtained in the qualifying examinations and/or entrance examinations are taken into consideration. The selection process may vary from time to time based on the policies of the state government, Union Territory administration, and university to which the institution is affiliated. The eligibility criterion for admission to the B.Ed. program requires any prospective student to be a graduate or a post-graduate from a recognized university.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. program likewise has 100 seats for intake. The merit-based admission for this diploma course, as in the case of the B.Ed., looks at marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test results. Selection is following state government policies. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board can apply for admission to the D.El.Ed. program.
