Pragati College of Education, Darjeeling Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

The Pragati College of Education (PCOE), a co-ed institution,  and is located in the hilly region of Darjeeling in West Bengal. The college is a specialist institution in Education and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. Admission to PCOE is purely on merit. Merit considers marks secured by candidates in qualifying examinations and/or entrance examinations. Eligibility for admission into PCOE programs is governed by rules framed by the State Government, UT Administrations, and the University to which it is affiliated. With regard to the B.Ed. program, the eligibility pertains to those who are graduates or possess a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree from any recognized university. Other specific eligibility criteria shall be for the D.El.Ed. program, as prescribed by the state government or UT administration. The candidates would have to prepare accordingly and remain updated on the admission process.

Application Process

Pragati College of Education, Darjeeling, application procedure would generally consist of these steps:

1. Declaration of admissions: The college announces the beginning of admissions officially through website and several other media.

2. Application form: An applicant would be supposed to procure and fill out an application form. This can be availed either via the college website or may be available directly in the College's admission office.

Further, the policy of the selection process is guided and governed by the State Government, UT Administration, and the affiliated University. Candidates must be a graduate or an equivalent degree holder from a recognized university to be eligible for the B.Ed program.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): PCOE prepares students for the D.El.Ed program and has 50 seats allocated for learners. Admission is purely on merit, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The requirements for admission and the criteria for the selection of candidates for the D.El.Ed program are defined and regulated by the State Government or UT Administration. The candidates should ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria as decided by the respective authority.
