Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital is a recognised dental college established in 1992 that is located in Alkola, Shimoga, Karnataka. This affiliated college recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) focuses on bringing different dental programmes and is located on 5.5 acres of land. It is a dental college with a faculty strength of 171 members and offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. The college offers only one undergraduate course, which is Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), with a total sanctioned intake of 100. Postgraduate programmes include five Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses with limited seats of 2-3 each. Some of them include Master of Dental Sciences in Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and Periodontology. All course offerings are full-time programmes and all students get intense and practical training in their areas of specialisation.

Admission to Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital is made only through national-level entrance tests.
