Sri Krishna College of Technology was established in 1985 by Sri Krishna Institutions. The campus of the college spreads over an area of 52 acres of land. Sri Krishna College of Technology is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade A. The college is also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and National Cyber Safety and Security Standards.  SKCT Coimbatore is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Sri Krishna College of Technology is affiliated to Anna University. The college has also secured 137th position in the NIRF ranking 2021 in the Engineering category as compared to 152nd rank in 2020 in the same category. 

Being an autonomous institute, SKCT Coimbatore offers 8 undergraduate programmes, 6 postgraduate programmes and 4 doctoral level programmes in the fields of engineering, technology and management. Ample facilities are provided by the college. Sri Krishna College of Technology facilities include boys hostel, girls hostel, library, transport, laboratories, sports, gym, cafeteria, auditorium, classrooms, IT infrastructure, etc. The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls students. The hostel rooms are equipped with all basic facilities like water, electricity, furniture, appliances, etc. The hostels are enabled with wi-fi to support academic related activities of the students. General utility shops, photocopy shops, etc are also available within the hostel premise.

SKCT Coimbatore facilities include a central library. The library has a large collection of books on engineering, management and research. Other resources of the library include national and international journals, periodicals, newspapers, magazines and many more. Every department of the college has its own laboratory. The laboratories are equipped with modern instruments and apparatus for practicals. Chess, carrom, badminton, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, football, hockey, basketball, handball, hockey, etc are the various indoor and outdoor games provided by the Sri Krishna College of Technology sports department. The gym facility is available for both boys and girls students. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are available in the college cafeteria. The auditorium is very spacious and accommodates a large audience.

B.E, M.E, M.B.A and Ph.D are the courses offered by the college. Sri Krishna College of Technology courses are offered in full-time mode. The courses are affiliated to Anna University.
