Visual communication is quite a non-conventional course and is somehow different from other communication courses. Once you hear about this course without knowing the background or much detailed information about the course, you might be confused.
Usually, students take visual communication after finishing their 10+2 standard education from a recognized board. The visual communication course is nothing but the flow and transfer of information to certain audiences via different types of mediums.
This information on visual communication can be sourced from numerous places from websites to television, different publishers, visual media, and many more. During this curriculum, students need to go through and learn some of the important things like basic technical communication, digital media design, design history, web design, 2-D design, 3-D design, drawings, and design technology, colour management, and many more.
Students will get some additional knowledge during their curricula, such as the basic sense of portfolio design, basic studio experiences, and many more.
The eligibility criteria for admission in the visual communication course are similar to most of the other undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Candidates must have the eligibility criteria to qualify for admission.
Completion of 10+2 exam from a recognized board in India with a relevant discipline as their major.
For undergraduate courses, students must study subjects like physics, mathematics, and English during their 10+2 standard. However, the criteria is not the same for all the institutes.
The eligibility criteria may differ from one institution to another; however, the passing percentile must be 50 percent on an aggregate.
Must pass the undergraduate exam from a recognized university with a certain percentile which may differ.
Although not too many universities offer visual communication, some of the best universities in our country take students in this course. However, the entrance exams are different for UG and PG courses.
DU (Delhi University) BA Entrance Exam- Delhi University takes candidates in the course of Visual Communication every year. They used to take the BA Entrance test, by which students can be enrolled in the same course.
JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) BA Entrance Test- Jamia Millia Islamia University is another top-rated university where a student can get their admission by taking the BA entrance test.
M.O.P Vaishnav Visual Communication Entrance Exam- Mop Vaishnav Visual Communication Entrance Exam is a combination of two stages where written Test (Objective Type) on current affairs, media awareness, communication skills, and visual arts are taken in stage one and then in stage two, drawing and visualization are taken into account. However, the final steps consist of group discussion and personal interview.
NID DAT- National Institute of Design (NID) organizes NID Entrance Exam to take students for admission in the design courses offered at their institute.
Sathyabama University Entrance Examination- Sathyabama University Entrance Examination application form can be collected in person from the University Administrative Office. Entrance Examinations are conducted in major cities all over India.
CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design)- The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a joint entrance exam to get admission into the postgraduate courses in the field of technological design. This exam is held every year with the collaboration of all IITs and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

PG program/Master’s Degree is a 2-year long program for a visual communication course. Therefore 4 semesters are there.
