Hello Tasneem,
Diploma in Pharmacy, commonly known as D.Pharma is a two year course to open your own chemist shop or to take a lateral entry in second year of Bachelor of Pharmacy. Students can enroll in the course after successfully completing their 12th boards in science stream with physics, chemistry and either biology or mathematics as subjects. After obtaining the diploma, registration with the pharmacy council is required to be a registered pharmacist. A person having diploma in pharmacy can be employed as a registered pharmacist in a hospital or pharmacy dispensing drugs and pharmaceuticals.
Yes, you can absolutely apply for d.pharma through KCET after backing out from your first year of engineering. But this time, choose the course after giving it a deep thought as to what interests you, what are your career aspirations etc and then choose the course accordingly.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you!
