72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Information Technology shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned, a course offered by Gopal Narayan Singh University, Rohtas.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate should have M.Sc-IT/ MCA/ M.Sc (Physics)/ M.Tech (IT/ Electronics/ Computer Science/ Embedded System/ VLSI Design).
Qualifying Marks: At least a Master's degree with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0 on a 10-point scale, or 60% marks for the General, GEN-EWS, and OBC categories. For SC / ST or PWD candidates, the minimum CGPA requirements may be relaxed to 5.50 on a 10-point scale or to 55% marks.
Admission Details
1. All admissions to Ph.D. Programme in the Gopal Narayan Singh University shall be made through an All India Ph. D. Admission Test by the Gopal Narayan Singh University, i.e., Gopal Narayan Singh University Ph.D. Admission Test (GPAT).
2. Admission to various Ph.D. programs under GPAT Exempted Category: A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as National Eligibility Test (NETJRF), NT-LS (without fellowship), Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) accredited by UGC, shall be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. programme without appearing in the GPAT but they have to fill up the application form. They would be required to qualify in an interview to be eligible for consideration for registration for a Ph.D. in the concerned discipline.
